What are some flowering perennials that bloom from early spring till late summer or fall?

I would like ones that live for years and years , not the ones that die off in a few years. Also I need low matenience. Thanks in advance.

What are some flowering perennials that bloom from early spring till late summer or fall?
Knock out roses would be a very good choice for you. They will bloom from mid spring to fall frost. Same with hydrangea - try the endless summer variety.

If you plant the following plants in sun, you will have blooms of one or the other in succession from early spring til frost:

daffodils

tulips

allium

iris

poppies

shasta daisies

phlox

monarda

false indigo

asclepias

blackeyed susan

purple coneflower

In shade, plant:

helleborus

hosta

bleeding heart

tiarella

beardtongue

ferns

epimedium

solomon's seal

fall-blooming anemones

toad lilies
Reply:Dianthus

I have the ones in the above picture in that color, in dark red, in pink and white. The bloom profusely starting in late May until a frost.
Reply:Yeah, that is a good question. I remember trying to find the answer 30 years ago when I had my first garden.

As a previous answerer already stated, there is no plant that blooms continuously... except (laughing) dandelions.

Good luck....let us all know if you find that magical mythical plant.
Reply:There is not a plant that blooms from spring to fall. That is why you have to plant many types of flowers for continuous blooming.
Reply:gardenias be a good choice
Reply:Either do the successive planting, or use annuals. That's their purpose.
